NEW DELHI: City police on Saturday arrested journalist Pushp Sharma who wrote a report in March claiming that the AYUSH ministry said in an RTI reply that it denied jobs to Muslims.
Sharma was arrested for allegedly “fabricating” the RTI reply in which the Ayush Ministry is supposed to have said that it does not recruit Muslims for jobs.

The report was published in the Milli Gazette issue of March 16-31 issue.
Sharma was interrogated by the Kotla Mubarakpur police for a few days after the report was published. After that, the RTI replies were sent for forensic analysis.
The police also quizzed the editor of the magazine, Dr Zafarul-Islam Khan, on April 11 as a witness.
